SKIN PHILOSOPHY

Gentle and Effective Care

For BETULA NATURA the skin is a sensory organ and skincare is a loving, knowing touch. BETULA NATURA offers the skin a soothing break and helps when it needs support and care. BETULA NATURA products support the natural functions of the skin and work with it, not against it. Therefore, we focus on clean beauty and high-quality botanical care, using pure, carefully selected raw materials.

CRAFT

Creating Good Things

Heartfelt projects: Craftsmanship means much more to us than just producing a product; for us it is a philosophy and an attitude. In craftsmanship, we believe in the power and liveliness of materials, which continues in a special form in the product. In our own manufactory and in collaboration with our manufacturing partners, we maintain traditional crafts like soap making and sewing. Our high-quality nourishing natural soaps are handcrafted with our own formulations. The valuable upcycled raw material birch bark is transformed into hand-sewn, stylish toothbrush holders.

SUSTAINABILITY

Acting Responsibly

What we do matters. How we act is significant and has consequences—for people, nature, and the environment. For BETULA NATURA, sustainability is a philosophy of many small and conscious steps. Every day we make decisions, and each decision gives us the opportunity to think differently and move forward. In our view humanity cannot survive without a healthy nature. And every person can contribute to a healthy nature and a better future—through many small steps, day by day. Whether by producing or consuming sustainable cosmetic products or by having the knowledge and will to take social responsibility and treat nature with care.

QUALITY

The Best from Nature

Quality is our measure of all things. Good products are very important to us. That is why we decided to create high-quality natural cosmetics using the best that nature offers to improve skin and wellbeing. This is why we make many things ourselves in our manufactory and work closely with hand-selected manufacturing partners. We rely on organic raw materials, gentle formulations, pure natural fragrances—and the plant powers of the forest and the birch. Because we have found that nature is beneficial and brings balance to both skin and soul.

BIRCH BARK

An Almost Forgotten Ingredient

The healing power of the birch has been forgotten today. BETULA NATURA revives this knowledge of the plant powers of the birch. Birch Bark - Renewable & Highly Effective As a renewable raw material with healing properties, birch bark is a healthy alternative to plastic and impresses with excellent qualities. Birch bark is water-repellent, breathable, antibacterial, and antiviral, offering natural protection against mold. This makes it an ide al material for our toothbrush holders.

PLANT POWERS

Birch - a Bright Symbol of Purity, Spring, and new Beginnings

Birch has been revered since ancient times—as a symbol of spring, as a plant in myth and tradition, as a useful crop and medicinal plant. Its leaves and wood were considered healing, and its sap provided strength. For centuries, extracts from birch bark have been used by healers as natural medicine for treating skin diseases and wounds. The bioactive substances from birch bark act quickly on the upper skin layer, supporting natural functions and activating moisture balance and metabolism. In particular, the valuable Betulin, a natural extract from birch bark, possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and cell-regenerating properties; it prevents irritations while smoothing and soothing the skin. At BETULA NATURA, we use Betulin for balancing and effective body and oral care.

PIONEER

Creating New Life

Birch is a pioneer. It plays a significant role in the regeneration and preservation of the forest. Unpretentious, robust, adaptable, and fast-growing, it thrives in barren soil and has the ability to spread quickly. It prepares the ground for initially vulnerable, more durable species and helps forests recover faster after fires or clearings. After storm and wildfire damage, the birch is one of the first trees to create new habitats and restore the forest. As a pioneer and mixed forest partner, it particularly contributes to enhancing biodiversity in the forest ecosystem. Up to 100 more animal species thrive in coniferous forests when a few birches are present. The falling autumn leaves of the birch form a layer of natural mulch, improving soil quality for small organisms and help to protect the soil from erosion. Dead birch trunks and branches provide food and habitat for fungi, insects, and many small animal species. SIGNATUR

A Source of New Powers

Grace, beauty, and lightness, regeneration, and flexibility are attributed to birch. As a symbol of awakening spring and new beginnings, it delights with its bright appearance, slender growth, delicate green, and the sweet fragrance of its leaves. Like spring itself, it brings hope and joy to life. Invigorating, regenerating, and anti-inflammatory powers can be found in almost all parts of the tree: in its leaves, in its sap, in the birch bark, birch charcoal, and birch ash.

SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: NATURE

“Most people don't even know how beautiful the world is and how much splendor reveals itself in the smallest things, in some flower, a stone, a tree bark, or a birch leaf.” Rainer Maria Rilke in a letter exchange with his brother-in-law

Nature is a place of rest, a source of raw materials? Well, it is so much more than that. It is the foundation of our existence. Living nature is both a wonder and a reality. Outside it provides our environment and it also resonates within ourselves. How do we find inspiration in nature? With our senses! Do we truly see what sprouts, blooms, and thrives outside? Do we genuinely perceive the liveliness and diversity, the movement as well as the stillness of nature? Nature wants to be felt, touched, observed, and seen in all its fullness. Let us perceive the forest and trees with open eyes, with an open mind and heart. In doing so, we may find some peace and simple pleasures offside from an increasingly loud, flashy, and hectic world. When we engage closely with nature, resonating with it, we begin to sense what it can teach us: interconnectedness, encounter, wonder, and a return to the flow of life, to heartfelt wisdom. Every tree is a poem. Every leaf carries a message.
